Speaking with a fake accent enhances my self esteem. Why?

I'm extremely insecure and a bit agoraphobic.  Being in public or around groups of people terrifies me to the point of crippling panic attacks, unless I am faking an accent.  It normally comes out as Scottish, and it's not something I have to concentrate on.  It just comes out.  I didn't start doing it on purpose.  One day it just of came out of my mouth, but when it did, I found that I felt extremely confident and safe.  Now whenever I have to be around people, even just going to the store, I speak with a Scottish accent and I'm an entirely different person, in a good way.  I'm wondering if this is a known condition or anything like that, and what I can do to help myself?  I know it's not normal behavior, but I really don't know what to classify it as and I do like to know things when it has to do with my mental health.

Because you listen to yourself more closely. It's normal. Go for it.  Expand on it.
