Is it normal to make up fake people and pretend to be them every minute of everyday with out stop.

Ever since I was little I would make up people and pretend to be them instead of being my self. I would also believe that people where out to hurt me ever very close family members. I was a cutter and have felt depressed since the seventh grade. Do I need to see a doctor for this or is it something not that importantant. Thanks~

Hello

It depends how you feel ' now '.. Do you still cut or not, do you feel your current life is ruined or not, etc...

If you are still cutting, it is obvious you need to see a professional. As the cause(s) of cutting are unconscious, you need to see a Psychoanalyst instead of a psychologist / simple therapist or even a psychiatrist. When the cause(s) is unconscious, I always recommend psychoanalysts. That is because only them deal with what is hidden in the unconscious and subconscious. Once the causes are relived, the symptoms like yours (cutting), disappear.

Best

Don't think psychoanalysts are expensive, since most of them adapt their prices in accordance with the income of people. More you're totally free to search another if the first ones you found don't do that.
