Good question. The human element often influences the decisions we make. Among all the aspects of the human element, instincts can be included. We are loaded with more genetically instilled instincts than we realize. So to cite a common example of intelligence conflicting with the human element, and possibly a mistake, take in consideration some of the failed relationships we get ourselves in to. Intelligence tells us that we would be financially more secure and more in control of our daily lives as total individuals. But instincts dictate we be social creatures with a desire for one on one companionship. Sometimes those relationships cause us to loose money, time, social standing, and other negative effects even though our intelligence may have warned us otherwise.

Because we are human and everyone makes mistakes. No one is perfect.

Just because a person is intelligent does not mean that they know EVERYTHING .

Eeven if one could know everything, there would be conflicts, tradeoffs -- depending on what choices one makes, an answer could be right is some ways and wrong in other ways.

If you mean simple stuff like an error in a math problem, i don't think there is reasearch on that, yet.

You might want to look into Decision Analysis theory; it sounds like something you would be interested in.
