how do you think the mind works when a person takes a placebo, do you think pain is more psychological?

I think that pain is psychological. Think about a time when you cut yourself without knowing and when you finally see the cut it hurts like crazy even if its just small.

Hi

It depends what causes the pain. If it is created by our mind / is psychosomatic  or not . Our brain can create all sorts of illnesses / pains : cancer, migraine, eczema etc. The list goes on and on... This is subconscious of course. In this case the question is  : why this person needs create a illness for live or be happy ?

Otherwise when someone takes a placebo well, that fools the mind of the person, so he /her  really believes to have took a true medicine. As a result he / her feels better !

Have a nice day

I believe it indeed is psychological. (Some pain of course)

I remember my science teacher telling us about a story when he was on a boat w/ a bunch of buddies however one of them was soooo sick and getting seriously dehydrated so my science teacher decided and told the other guys "let's play a trick on (not him) but on his mind" so he told his buddy "Here is some chap stick specially made for motion sickness, rub this on your lips a couple times and you wont get sick anymore" his buddy did so and sure enough no more puking!!! When they got off the boat his buddy was like "omg thank you!!!! I wanted off that boat SO bad because well who likes throwing up un controllably! What was the name if the chap stick I need to get a couple" my teacher says "Blistex" =)

lol!
